PA should raise the minimum wage

Yesterday, workers in 10 states who do some of the least desirable jobs got a little New Year’s present – a raise.

Cost of living increases boosted the minimum wage by as much as fifteen cents an hour. Since low-wage workers need their earnings just to make ends meet, this pay boost will go right into the economy to buy food and clothes and pay rent and utilities.

People working for the minimum wage in Pennsylvania have not had a raise from the $7.25 an hour they earn since July of 2009.

It’s time to give hard working families a break and raise the minimum wage in PA.
